Accessibility

We want anyone to be able to use this site, with or without assistive technology. Accessibility is not a box we tick at the end: we keep it in mind from the moment we build each component.

We work to meet WCAG 2.1, level AA, the international benchmark for web accessibility. It is an ongoing target: we review and improve as the site grows.

• Contrast and type: colors and sizes chosen to read comfortably, in both light and dark mode.
• Keyboard navigation: interactive elements can be reached and operated without a mouse.
• Reduced motion: we respect the system preference for reduced motion; animations turn off for anyone who asks for it.
• Alternative text: images that carry meaning include descriptions for screen readers.
• Semantic structure: headings, lists and regions marked up properly for assistive technology.

Some content comes from third parties — maps, embedded video, reviews — and does not always meet the standard in full. We work to offer accessible alternatives where we can, and we appreciate being told when you hit a barrier.
