How to write a quote that gets approved
- Your details at the top: business name, phone and email. Add your logo and the quote looks like it came from an established company.
- A number and a date, so you and the client can refer to it when it gets approved.
- Clear line items: what it is, how many and at what price. No vague “miscellaneous services.”
- Tax on its own line and the total in plain sight, so the invoice holds no surprises.
- An expiration date and payment terms: how long the price holds and how you get paid.
From quote to invoice
Once the client says yes, the quote has to become an invoice. If you copy it by hand from one document to the next, a simple automation can do it for you, or we can build it into your own system. To confirm a payment once it comes in, use the payment receipt tool; more in free tools.
